How to Apply for Your Class 2 Medical

To start your journey as a pilot, obtaining a Class 2 Medical Certificate is essential. This certification verifies your fitness to begin flying training. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the application process.

Step 1: Create an eGCA Account

  • Sign up for an account on the eGCA portal.

  • Once logged in, navigate to the “Issuance of Class 2 Medical” section, where you’ll fill in your basic details.

Step 2: Complete Required Medical Tests

A Class 2 Medical requires a few mandatory tests, including:

  • Blood tests (Hb%, TLC, DLC, or CBC)

  • Urine analysis (RE/ME)

  • Resting ECG

  • Chest X-ray (PA view)

  • Pure tone audiometry
Note: Detailed information about the required tests will be available in the same section of the website where you are entering your information.

Step 3: Upload Your Reports

  • After completing these tests, upload the reports to the eGCA portal and enter the necessary details.

  • Ensure that you revalidate your application before continuing.

Step 4: Visit an Approved Class 2 Medical Examiner

  • Schedule an appointment with a DGCA-approved Class 2 medical examiner.

  • The examiner will review and approve your reports and forward them to the DGCA for processing.

Step 5: Receive Your Class 2 Medical CA-35 Certificate

  • Upon successful approval from the medical examiner, your Class 2 Medical CA-35 certificate will be available on eGCA, typically valid for 3 months.

  • The official Class 2 medical assessment (valid for one year from the date of medical) will also be uploaded on eGCA.

It is advisable to obtain both your Class 2 and Class 1 medical certificates before beginning the training process. This ensures you’re medically fit before investing time and money into ground classes or flight training.
